The ExperienceNaija initiative is aimed at promoting and re-awakening the spirit of tourism in Nigeria using photo-tourism as a tool.
The purpose is to gradually refocus the perspectives of the organized private sector and local citizenry to contribute to and look inwards for a great tourism showcase that can gradually reach global audience.
The Initiative Objectives
- To capitalize on the catch phrase ‘ExperienceNaija’ as an expression of more to be desired in the Nigerian tourism space
- To stimulate the involvement of the private sector in tourism development as drivers of the message
- To develop a tourism business mentality from government offices to organized private sector and individual service providers
- To improve the branding of tourism destinations in Nigeria
- To create awareness for photo-tourism possibilities in Nigeria
- To contribute to the effective marketing and branding of the tourism sector in Nigeria
Achieving The Initiative
We intend to achieve this by initiating the local communities, corporate bodies, individuals and the government to recognize, contribute and assume key responsibilities towards tourism growth in Nigeria.
The ExperienceNaija initiative aims to undertake the following in collaboration with corporate bodies, individuals and the government at both federal and state levels:
- Renovation and enhancement of some select tourism attractions to meet acceptable standards
- Annotation of notable tourism spots to enrich tourist experience
- Utilizing government office receptions for tourism exposure
- Production of ExperianceNaija tourism brochures for airport lounges, hotels, restaurants and entertainment spots)
- Expansion of ExperienceNaija initiative in all the other pilot cities
- Erection of ExperienceNaija tourism promotional billboards nationwide
- Purchase of advert spaces on international media platforms
