Hi there! Welcome to XPN (ExperienceNaija)!

When you visit ExperienceNaija, we know you trust us with your information. As a result, this Privacy Policy is meant to help you understand what kind of information we collect, why we collect it and what we do with it. This is important; we hope you will take the time to read it carefully. We want you to be clear how we’re using your information and thus have gone the extra mile to simplify this to the best of our ability.

What kind of information we collect:

Direct information: This refers to the information you give to us. For example, for effective use of our website, users are requested to subscribe so as to have an account with us as well as have access to our products. Involved in the subscription process is a registration form users are expected to fill. During registration, users will be requested of the following personal information:

  1. Entity: (Are you an Individual, group, corporation or school?)
  2. First name
  3. Last name
  4. Date of birth: dd/mm/yy
  5. Nationality
  6. Current residence
  7. Mobile number
  8. E-mail
  9. Next of Kin
  10. Relationship
  11. Mobile number of next of kin
  12. Current residence of next of kin

In addition to the aforementioned requested information, our website will also request the user to upload a recent passport photograph. Other information requested would concern credit or master card details.

Our platform allows for three categories of subscribers. These are:

  1. Individual
  2. Agent
  3. Corporation/Institution

An individual requested to complete the process delineated above. So also is an agent. Where an agent is attempting to make a subscription for his/her client he/she is still requested to provide the same information for his/her client as the client would have done if they were registering as an individual. In the case of a corporation, the corporation is requested to provide similar information as an individual would only this time, the information would be as related to the tourists. This is so that the registration for a corporative body does not prove cumbersome. The corporation is legally obliged to be in custody of all personal information concerning the employees it registers and to share such information with us where necessary. All we at ExperienceNaija will ask for are the names.

Information we collect when you register to ExperienceNaija forms the data basis for your ExperienceNaija account and as such, is treated as personal information.

Why we collect it:

ExperienceNaija is a photo-tourism venture which caters for destination tourism with a blend of photography, cuisine and events all packaged in one experience. ExperienceNaija offers participating tourists fully air-conditioned luxury tour vehicles with security, tour services, photography services, five-course cuisine, cultural and art display, visits to monuments and other locations of interest within a three-hour package. Consequently, we collect the kind of information we do for the following astute reasons:

  1. Tourist’s identity
  2. Safety and security measures
  3. Commercial purpose

What we do with it:

As noted earlier, we collect information for 3 factors in particular. These 3 factors still govern what we do with the information you give us. The following are the 3 factors:

  1. Tourist’s identity:

At ExperienceNigeria, it is essential we know who we are in contact with to a useful and reasonable extent. Consequently, we find it in our best interest to incorporate the banking policy “Know Your Customer” (KYC). Although, in our case, we prefer to term such policy as “Know Your Tourist” (KYT). Another disparity between the KYT and the KYC is that the information we require is not as rigorous as the KYC. The information used for this policy is simply those you provide us during your registration process and can be seen from your account. The information garnered here is simply used to help us know you better

  1. Safety and security measures:

Another fundamental use of the information you provide us is simply to doubly ensure that all safety precautions and security measures are met. As much as we do not wish for the worst, we acknowledge that due to the tourism services we offer, it is imperative that we have information that can aid us in ensuring best security standards. For example, in the unfortunate case of a missing tourist during the tour trip, the information we collect would go a long way in ensuring that the desired outcome is achieved. In such a case, it is important to have information that will be useful where the involvement of the Nigerian Police command and other security agencies are needed.

  1. Commercial purpose:

On our website, subscription to any of our product packages requires payment to be made online via the transaction mediums available. Upon payment, ExperienceNaija is obligated to provide you with payment verification documents that are mandatory to actually experience our product packages. The documents to be delivered are:

  • Payment receipt in the form of an ExperienceNaija ticket for the specific product package paid for
  • Personal identification information for tourist’s ID tag
  • A pre-tour information pack specifically tailored to subscribed tourist

The data that you provide us is further used in the above process.

Consequent upon the above, by having an account with us you confirm that all information provided on our website is accurate and up to date.

Security

We take precautions to protect your information. When you submit sensitive information via the website, your information is protected both online and offline. Wherever we collect sensitive information (such as credit card data), that information is encrypted and transmitted to us in a secure way. You can verify this by looking for a closed lock icon at the bottom of your web browser, or for “https” at the beginning of the address of the web page.

While we use encryption to protect sensitive information transmitted online, we also protect your information offline. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, billing or customer service) are granted access to personally identifiable information. The computers/servers in which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment.

This web site contains links to other sites. Our website includes hyperlinks to, and details of, third party websites. Please be aware that we are not responsible and have no control over the content or privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site to read the privacy statements of any other site that collect personally identifiable information.

Also, we would, at this point, like bode out that third party registration of a tourist (i.e. via an agent) would require the sharing of personal data between the prospective tourist and the agent. Consequently, ExperienceNaija does not take responsibility for information shared outside of our platform and as such crave the indulgence of prospective tourists to ensure the credibility of the agent who subscribes on their behalf. Howbeit, ExperienceNaija shares with its users its registered agents authorized by ExperienceNaija to subscribe tourists on our and their behalf. This information would be constantly updated where the need arises and thus should be viewed by the user frequently.
